history

Absolutely Critical Resources Corp., formerly named AFR NuVenture Resources Inc.,  and previously African Metals Corporation, (“AFR”) was incorporated in British Columbia, Canada, in May 1980 with its focus on the African nation of the Democratic Republic of Congo.  In July 2016, John F. O’Donnell and David V. Mason were appointed as directors and Simeon Tshisangama was appointed as CEO.

ABC’s new leadership returned the Company to financial and corporate health and good standing. John F. O’Donnell was subsequently appointed as Chairman, President and CEO of ABC, and A. Douglas Hunter was appointed as a director to add professional geological expertise to the Board of Directors. James Tworek joined the board in December of 2025.

On May 4, 2026, the company officially changed its name to Absolutely Critical Resources Corp. and changed its TSX Venture Exchange trading symbol to ABC.

The new name reflects the company’s evolution, strategic direction, and commitment to exploration in reliable jurisdictions for the critical mineral resources which are absolutely essential to support the foundation of economic strength and national security.
